The Microsoft mind It struck me the other day how hated Microsoft has become. They were always disliked by some, but now they can't make a single move without every public commentator denouncing them and their evil ways. Microsoft itself does not understand this, as we see in this discussion of smart tags. Also, here's an insightful look at the economics of bug fixing Microsoft-style. Note: they only calculate the cost of bugs from the producers perspective, the value of the consumers work or time lost to bugs is invisible. To further underscore how universally hated and distrusted Microsoft has become, check out this theory on how Microsoft plans to use it's abysmal virus record to takeover TCP/IP. And the Scottish Police have just rejected Microsoft too. I wonder how MSFT employees feel about where they work.
